1st floor as part of the Next Level Festival.
The sound installation “entrance – sound lock” in the entrance area of storyLab kiU, inaccessible to visitors due to a banderole, allows the sound to penetrate through the open door into the TU’s large exhibition space in the Dortmunder U. There, the sound spreads out in all directions and invites visitors to explore the large exhibition space by listening.
“entrance – sound lock” is inspired by the architectural space with its special acoustic properties, which are determined by shape, size and material, shape, size and material. At the center of the compositional structure is the subtle interplay between the natural properties of the sound and the acoustic characteristics of the space.
