MAREMOTO Strausberger Platz 2 Berlin/2008/08
Berlin’s avant-garde chef Cristiano Rienzner and his partner Monika Neubacher have opened what is
currently probably the most spectacular restaurant in the capital. Typical for the inventor of „metaphoric
cuisine“ is the Maremoto at Strausberger Platz 2, a tidal wave of the life of taste.
Herbert John Klitzsch, interior designer, designer and friend of Rienzner’s, melts the confectioner’s style
of Frankfurter Allee between waves and curves. The gaze can wander, the taste of the day dissolves in
joyful expectation and finds relaxation.
Toxin, one of the hottest sprayers of the underground hip-hop scene, also helped to design the Maremoto.
A sound installation by TAMTAM / Sam Auinger and Hannes Strobl with „raumfarben 01“ completely
immerses the room in a mysterious underwater world that transforms the visual noise of the street into a
mystical atmosphere.
